Ingleton Habitat Bank North Yorkshire BNG

North Yorkshire BNG – Why This Site Works for you as a buyer.

This project is one of the leading North Yorkshire BNG sites and is designed around the needs of developers, I will provide certainty, uplift, and long‑term compliance.

  • We price our units very competitively.
  • We are creating High unit yield through creation of Lowland Meadow, enhanced neutral grassland, woodland and scrub.
  • Low delivery risk, with straightforward land conditions, no sensitive constraints, and a clear 30‑year management plan.
  • We are providing Strong ecological uplift supported by soil testing, targeted seeding, and proven restoration techniques.
  • Long‑term security, with monitoring, adaptive management and habitat maintenance built into the agreement.
  • Strategic location, we have enhanced local ecological networks and aligning with the National Character Area’s environmental priorities.
  • Robust governance, working close with the North Yorkshire Planning Council and Bowland Ecology including baseline mapping, condition assessments and clear evidence for planning submissions.

North Yorkshire BNG – Key Habitat Types Being Delivered

🌼 Lowland Meadow

We have created High‑distinctiveness habitat on low‑phosphorus soils. This area is developing into a species‑rich meadow supporting diverse pollinators and grassland fauna. Management includes hay cuts, aftermath grazing and annual wildflower enhancement therefore ensuring steady condition improvement.

🌱 Enhanced Neutral Grassland

Large areas of improved grassland are being restored using green hay, wildflower seeding and rotational cutting. This consequently provides reliable medium‑distinctiveness uplift and forms the core of the site’s unit generation.

🌳 New Broadleaved Woodland

Native woodland blocks are being planted in naturalistic clusters with open glades and structural diversity. As a result, not only does this supports birds, bats and invertebrates is also contributes long‑term carbon and landscape benefits.

🌿 Mixed Scrub

Scrub creation and enhancement adds valuable foraging and therefore makes perfect nesting habitat. We are adopting rotational management techniques to ensure a varied age structure and consequently this prevents dominance over grassland areas.

🌾 Hedgerows

We will strengthen Existing hedgerow and add new sections which will be planted to create continuous, species‑rich corridors. Hedgerow trees will also be allowed to mature, therefore improving connectivity for bats, birds and small mammals.

💧 Riparian Habitat

Aspland Beck, which is already in good condition, will especially benefit from reduced grazing pressure and improved bank vegetation. This supports water quality, stabilises banks and as a result enhances habitat for amphibians and aquatic invertebrates.
